License Renewal and Verification Services Now Available as DOTM Partially Resumes Online Services
The Department of Transport Management (DOTM) has partially resumed its online services after disruptions caused during the Gen-Z movement on September 8–9, 2025.
Following the incident, the Electronic Driving License (EDL) and Vehicle Registration System (VRS) services were stopped. Starting from today, these services have been restored in the Transport Management Offices across the Kathmandu Valley.
Currently, citizens can access license renewal and license verification services online. The department is conducting system tests in other transport offices to restore services there as soon as possible.
The DOTM has requested all transport offices to maintain necessary networking, biometric, and other equipment and stay in regular communication with the department to ensure smooth service delivery.
Other services will remain unavailable until the official portal, applydlnew.dotm.gov.np, becomes fully operational. Updates on the resumption of remaining services will be provided once the website stabilizes.
